Staying in London on a Budget, Comfort Inn Westminster

If you are traveling to London and want to stick to a budget, this hotel might work for you. In fact, I found the hotel location and staff to be perfect for my one night while in this area of London.

I traveled from Gibraltar International Airport to London Gatwick Airport on a Friday morning for €40 roundtrip, which is an amazing deal. I would have taken the train to Victoria Station, the closest hub to this hotel, but there was a train strike and I had to take the National Express Bus.

Check in at the hotel was easy and simple. Walking down the street to the hotel from Victoria Station, I felt that this area was going to be amazing. On my way to the hotel I was able to stop at a corner store and grab a drink.

I found the hotel without a problem, and entering was easy. The front desk boy was really nice and check in took less than a couple minutes.

Now for the fun part, the room was really tiny. When we talk about single rooms, this was definitely a single room. But for €89 staying in central London, the price was worth the location.

The single room is located up a back area of stairs, so the lift was not available to this little room. Upon entering, my first reaction, was "Yes, this is small." But for one night it would get the job done. I had seen hostels for similar prices, and you couldn't pay me to stay in a bunked up room of 6 to 12 people for the same price. In my 20's that wasn't a problem, but now, I require my own space.

The Comfort Inn Westminster single room. Not a lot of space but it had everything you needed for a night or two.

Everything was clean. The bed and towels were all fresh, clean and bright white. Everything was wiped off and nothing was afoul. Honestly, thats the most important to me, cleanliness followed by kind customer service.

The bathroom was tiny, the sink overlapped the toilet and there was no shower curtain over the showering area, which was basically the whole bathroom. Once again, I understood with the price I was paying, it was not going to be the Ritz. But don't get this room if you are a big person, the bathroom is very small and not much room to move around in.

The bathroom is tiny, but there was good water pressure and it was hot.

The room had no space to spread out, I was able to set up my phone and listen to music after walking around for the evening. In the morning I was out of the hotel and walking around before heading back to get ready for the 11am check out. See this video of my walk around the neighborhood: https://youtu.be/5YxMq2dmyiQ

The nice thing about check out was the Comfort Inn Westminster has luggage storage. That was a godsend honestly. To be able to leave my suitcase and backpack there for the day while I explored central London, was extremely helpful and justified the price as well. In researching luggage storage areas, they were around £15 for the storage for the day.

Overall, the price for the location and the room justified what the room was. I don't know if I could have stayed here more than one or two nights, the space was just too small to be able to do anything other than sleep. If I had to stay here again, for the price, I would.

Comfort Inn Westminster was in a great location

My total for the room at the Comfort Inn Westminster was €89 or about $95. It's crazy that my plane ticket to go to England was cheaper than one night at the hotel. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you are on a budget, because of its great location. If you are only there for a day or two it works.

The staff were great, from the morning to the evening. The management was accessible. Overall, as this is rated as a 3 star hotel, I would give this one a 5/5 for the value and price you get.
