British Airways is one of the only commercial airlines currently operating service to Gibraltar International Airport. The airline uses the A320 for its service from London Heathrow to Gibraltar, with a handful of the same aircraft flying the route regularly.
Today, saw one of its newest aircraft landing and departing at Gibraltar International Airport. The aircraft with registration number G-TTSA started service with British Airways in August 2024. It is an A320 Neo, equipped with 2x CFMI LEAP-1A26 engines.
This plane has had one roundtrip to Gibraltar since its inception. Today, 09 December 2024, saw this beautiful new plane landing and departing at one of the world’s top ten most dangerous airports. Take a look at the YouTube video below to see how a little bit of wind turbulence affected the plane on its final approach this morning.
It was great to watch G-TTSA coming in for landing over The Alboran Sea to runway 27 at Gibraltar International Airport. There was one point when the nose pulled up and I almost thought they would do a go around. The plane landed without incident, and quickly backtracked and taxied to its stand.
About an hour and half later, G-TTSA pushed back and started then lined up on runway 27 for departure. The plane was cleared for take off at 11:28 am, about 18 minutes after its scheduled departure time.
Be sure to check out Ministry of Flight on YouTube for more videos of planes at and near Gibraltar International Airports, one of the top ten most dangerous in the world.
Here’s the a couple pieces of my equipment I bought recently. I really like this backpack for my cameras, and this tripod is compact and is pretty sturdy.
