Information About Gibraltar Airport
What is unusual about Gibraltar Airport?

Gibraltar is one of the most dangerous airports in the world because the runway is short, it is surrounded by water on both ends of the tarmac, an international highway bisects the tarmac with cars, bikes and people on foot crossing.

The weather caused by the Strait of Gibraltar can lead to brutal crosswinds. The pilots who land here have to be very qualified and specially trained. Flights to Gibraltar are currently only from the United Kingdom because Gibraltar International Airport is technically a military airport not a civilian one.
